Be part of the journey of growing The Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association (AIDA). We are the national body representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander doctors and medical students, focused on achieving equitable health and life outcomes for Indigenous people. We do this by working towards reaching population parity of Indigenous medical students and doctors; and supporting a culturally safe healthcare system.  

Responsibilities:

  • To enhance member retention and acquisition
  • Onboarding new members with the ability to streamline and improve onboarding processes 
  • Ownership and coordination of the membership renewal process
  • Day-to-day management of membership queries in a timely manner
  • Critically analyse the existing membership base, seeking opportunities for improvement 
  • Maintain all appropriate organisational records, appropriate document management systems, maintenance of the membership and contact database
  • IT savvy, becoming our internal IT lead to support the team with all areas of IT, including becoming the guru of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Proactive and strategic management of current and future members
  • Able to run reports on our data for staff and board members
  • Travel to events across Australia and beyond when required to do so 
  • Ensure members are engaged and inspired 
  • Provide strategic direction on how AIDA can grow its membership base 

Selection Criteria:

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years’ experience within a similar position 
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness of issues our members may be facing with a commitment to culturally safe practice, and improving self-determination and health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reporting and tracking skills
  • Strong MS office skills
  • Experience with a CRM (Customer Relations Management) System 
  • Genuine alignment to the organisations vision, purpose and values of AIDA

Desirable skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing/Events or related discipline
  • Experience working within an Indigenous organisation
