Dr Karen Nicholls is a Torres Strait Islander woman. A Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP), she has significant experience working in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector.
Dr Nicholls represents the Indigenous Medical workforce on multiple boards and committees, including Joint College Training Services (JCTS), the Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP) plus the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Council.
When not working as the Medico-Cultural Lead for AIDA, Dr Nicholls is working as a GP Academic at the University of Newcastle to create culturally safe learning spaces for Indigenous medical students.
