IMPORTANT PRIDoC 2020 ANNOUNCEMENT
After meeting with the Canadian PRIDoC 2020 Planning Committee and with the International Steering Committee, the PRIDoC Council, over the last 2 days, we have collectively assessed our current situation in the context of the COVID-19 crisis and arrived at a decision by consensus. With regret and deep sadness, we announce the PRIDoC conference in Vancouver will be postponed until 2021.
The potential risks to us, our communities and our nations are too great and the COVID-19 crisis is still unstable and therefore unpredictable.
More practical details regarding this postponement, including the option of registration fees reimbursement, will be determined over the next several weeks and communicated to you, both on the PRIDoC 2020 website and Facebook page.
We are now needed by our Indigenous physician organizations, our country’s health care workforces, and most importantly, our Indigenous populations. To all of our Indigenous physician colleagues on the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis, we send our collective wishes that you stay safe and well.
We are a PRIDoC Family throughout the Pacific Region. We will remain close, despite the physical distance and the delay of our gathering. Let’s continue to lift each other up, build on our strengths, and stay connected to the spirit of our lands and to each other.
We are Indigenous Peoples.
We are resilience.
