Advocacy

AIDA is uniquely positioned to provide perspectives aimed at improving the health and life outcomes of our people. We work to create a health system that is culturally safe, reflective of needs and inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural values.

A complete list of our policy submissions, policy papers, and policy partners can be found under the ‘Advocacy’ tab on the left.

AIDA is currently calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander doctors to join our Member Policy Group – a unique opportunity to have your voice directly influence national health policy.

Our Member Policy Group ensures AIDA’s advocacy reflects the lived experiences, cultural perspectives, and professional insights of our members. By participating, you will:

  • Contribute to culturally safe, evidence-based, and member-informed policy positions.
  • Influence AIDA’s submissions and advocacy priorities on current and emerging health issues.
  • Share your experiences to help shape Indigenous-led solutions for better health outcomes.
  • Strengthen your skills in policy dialogue, leadership, and advocacy.

We’re seeking members from across Australia – urban, regional, rural, and remote – at all career stages and in diverse specialties. An honorarium will be provided in recognition of time and expertise.

Consultations will be culturally safe and flexible, mostly via email.

Submit your EOI here: https://forms.office.com/r/hR03q8UjX2

EOIs due by: Tuesday 2 September

Make a real impact! Share your insights, guide our advocacy, and help deliver better health outcomes for our Communities
