Our job to protect our mob – AIDA urges communities to get the jab
“The COVID virus has devastated our lives and communities – locally, internationally and globally.
COVID is a highly transmissible disease and our only realistic method of beating it is through public health measures and vaccination.
Some of our mob have a significantly higher risk of COVID related disease and our elders are at a significantly higher risk.
We know that vaccination saves lives.
By getting vaccinated I can help stop the spread of COVID, I can protect myself, my family and wider community from getting sick.
Make a healthy choice to get vaccinated so we all can benefit.”
Dr Glenn Harrison – AIDA Board Director.
“I encourage you all to, if eligible, get vaccinated against COVID-19. Getting vaccinated is one of the best ways to protect ourselves, our families and our communities. Our young people, our elders and our sick are especially vulnerable to this virus. We must protect them at all costs. We must get vaccinated.”
Ella Ceolin – AIDA Board (Student) Director.
“I chose to take the Pfizer vaccine to protect myself, my family, and those around me. I don’t want to die from this illness, nor do I want to harm others by spreading it. We lose too many of our people to sickness, stay strong, stay healthy and look after each other”

“I want to keep our Elders safe and I encourage all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to get the COVID-19 vaccination. It’s very important that we all get our vaccines to keep our families and communities safe.
We thank all of you who have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and remind those who haven’t had their first dose to do so!
Also it is important to follow it up with your second dose of the vaccine as well in order to safely receive the level of protection from COVID-19.”
Dawn Casey – Deputy CEO NACCHO, AIDA Board Director.
