The Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association (AIDA) would like to notify members of a Special General Meeting (SGM) taking place on Tuesday 8 October at 7:30pm ADST.

Members are invited to attend the SGM to consider and vote on the adoption of a new AIDA constitution. This meeting marks an important step in AIDA’S ongoing development, ensuring our governance framework remains up-to-date, robust, and aligned with our mission and strategic direction. See the updated 2024 AIDA Constitution below.

  • Location: East Hotel, 69 Canberra Avenue, Kingston, ACT, 2604 

Members may also participate in the SGM via videoconference at the date and time specified in this notice.

Meeting Purpose and Agenda

The primary purpose of this SGM is to present the proposed new constitution for consideration and acceptance by our members. This new constitution has been developed through a comprehensive review process.

Resolution for Consideration

“That the members of AIDA who are entitled to vote accept the new constitution as presented, and that it replaces the existing constitution in its entirety.”

How to ParticipateRegistrations have now closed!

We encourage all members who are entitled to vote to take part in this important decision-making process. You can attend the SGM in person or by videoconference. If you wish to participate by videoconference, please notify the Chief Operations Officer via email at jaylene.chevalier@aida.org.au no later than 10:30 am (AEDT) on 7 October 2024. A link to stream the meeting will be provided by email prior to the SGM.

If you are entitled to vote but are unable to attend the SGM, you may appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf. To appoint a proxy or to nominate the Chair of the Meeting, complete and sign the Proxy Appointment Form and send it to the Chief Operations Officer no later than 10:30 am (AEDT) on 7 October 2024.
